* BayPeds - The San Francisco Bay Area Pedestrian Education Group is an all-volunteer organization promoting pedestrian and bicycling advocacy in the Bay Area.

San Francisco Bay Trail - A 400-mile shoreline pathway that will encircle San Francisco and San Pablo Bays. A little ove  r half has been developed.
San Jose Ave. / Guerrero St. Traffic Calming Project- A neighborhood traffic calming effort underway in San Francisco
Walk San Francisco- An activist group of seniors, bikers, mothers and more, making their voices heard.
Walk San Jose- A newly formed advocacy organization for walkers in the city of San Jose.
National Organizations:
America Walks- National pedestrian organization, headed by the dynamic Ellen Vanderslice.
Perils for Pedestrians- A monthly cable TV program dedicated to safer streets for pedestrians.
Surface Transportation Policy Project (STPP)- A national coalition of over 200 groups promoting balanced transportation funding and policy decisions.
The Campaign to Make America Walkable- A national pedestrian and bicyclist organization.
The Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center- The Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC) was established in 1999 with funding from the US Department of Transportation to connect communities with the information and resources they need to create safe places for walking and bicycling. The Center is a program of the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center in cooperation with the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals.
Walkable Communities, Inc.- A non-profit corporation, established in the state of Florida in 1996. It was organized for the express purposes of helping whole communities become more walkable and pedestrian friendly.
