Dear Chairperson Worth and Commissioners:
As a member of

organizations you are affiliated with],
I support Transportation for a Livable Contra Costa, a Platform
of public-interest recommendations for the new Measure C. This
Platform provides a smarter and more equitable alternative to
the old Measure C. Our community needs an improved
transportation network that expands transportation choices,
reigns in sprawl, and builds a safer and more livable County.
Specifically, I would like to see the following programs and
policies included:

Measure C should provide basic mobility, especially to people
who need it the most: the elderly and disabled, children, and
low-income residents who depend on public transit. We need much
more funding for buses, access and safety for bicyclists and
pedestrians, transit for seniors and the disabled, and safe
trips for kids.
We also need a transportation system that gives us alternatives
to being stuck in traffic. Please invest an Express Bus Network,
BART/e-BART, ferries, and ride-sharing, to give people more time
to spend with their families and less time staring at brake
lights.
Measure C also needs to do more to protect our communities from
the negative impacts of suburban sprawl. Please let the voters
approve the Urban Limit Line and make sure that any new
development must pay for the infrastructure it needs. In
addition, please help revitalize our neighborhoods and reduce
people's needs to commute long distances by supporting more
affordable housing that is close to jobs, services, and mass
transit.
I am very interested in being involved in decisions concerning a
new Measure C. Please keep me informed about all public meetings
and other opportunities to participate in the process.
Additionally, please include this letter in CCTA's next agenda
packet to ensure that all Commissioners can read it.
